So I bought a custom PC from Xidax. They seem to be a good retail for custom rigs but im having some issues with it. First off I have bad coil whine, which they are shipping me a new PSU but I am also having graphics card issues, I have been testing the card out on games like witcher bioshock and other. and still having low 40s in the fps on max settings. Maybe this is a PSU issue and will resolve itself when I replace the power supply but i need to ask you guys first.

well the psu is a *budget* psu and not the greatest in terms of quality but it should't be causing issues with performance imo. run some benchmarks like heaven and compare your scores with others of the same system

i think it was the psu issue. else everything seems good to go. 750 watts are more than enough. titan requires 600 watt min. so let your new psu come and check how are the performances are.
Btw mention which series of corsair u getting.

Thanks for the quick answers guys, The company said they would rebuild the pc if issues continue, but you pay 2.8k for a system I shouldn't have to run lower settings. I will report back tomorrow when the power supply comes in.

its a CX

also while I'm at it the fans on the H100I keep stopping and starting and making this god awful sound. I have tried everything to loosening then retraining the screws. maybe still A PSU issue.

$2800? i counted $1725 dollars for the parts. for 2800 you could almost do titan x in sli

Exactly.

Yes, please confirm $2800 US for this system or rather DON"T confirm. I hate to see people get ripped off.

That's just around $700 (taking into account lighting) you spent for them to build the system for you.

I know, and its BS but i had some cash leftover from taxes, and i spent it, won't use them again for sure, but with the warrenty I might as well use it.

honestly if you can, return it for a refund asap, buy the parts yourself from newegg/amazon or wherever and many people on here can give you help if needed to put it together. that was just a complete ripoff. and they gave you a h100i with a locked cpu that you cant overclock? logic

Yeah, $700 premium for a system that isn't even working properly. I'm getting a feeling the case is just average performance wise, with the main focus being on looks.
Also, I'm doubting the RAM. Is it good quality? If it has errors, you'll get bad performance or something worse.

Anyway, I doubt your issues have anything to do with your power supply. If the card wasn't getting sufficient power, you would be experiencing crashes and not slow-downs. Check to make sure you have the latest drivers for all your components installed (motherboard and graphics). Check to see what's all running at system boot and remove anything that looks extraneous. What kind of anti-virus are you running?

currently using malware bites, as my security protection, but i have I disabled it and have re enabled it. What could be causing these graphics problems?

Malwarebytes is only anti-malware. It provides no virus protection. I'd recommend getting Avast or AVG immediately and running a scan to make sure your virus free.

Typical of all store bought systems is the amount of bloatware they install (free trials, add-ons, etc). A lot of these programs are set to start when you boot up your system. These do take up system resources and if too many of them are running, there's not enough processor power and/or memory to run your game smoothly.

Obviously, your system *should* be able to handle anything and everything you throw at it, but there is something else going on here. There's a program called Speccy which, when run, will give you a report of what hardware is installed in your computer. Let's first make sure you actually have what you purchased.

also open up msconfig. go to your windows search/start button or whatever it is on windows 8 and type Msconfig, then click startup and uncheck whatever programs you do not recognize and reboot. this is just for future refrence but i doubt it will do much

First thing that jumps out is the 4095MB NVidia Geforce GTX TITAN X (EVGA). I would have thought it should read 12288MB, but I'm seeing numerous reports showing that number misrepresented. Expand the Graphics tree. Does it say what drivers are installed?
