I bought my PC prebuilt a couple years ago because I didn't feel like building it myself. Alas, I got what I paid for. I've upgraded the CPU from an AMD FX 4300 to an AMD FX 8350, and the graphics card which was some old radeon, to an EVGA gtx 750 TI. I was wondering if I could use a GTX 1060 with my current build:

CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 TI
MOBO: MSI 760GM-P23
RAM: 8 gigs of 800 Mhz DDR3 (2 x 4 sticks)
Power Supply: 500W

Solution
Here is the problem for upgrading to the gtx1060, because the cpu, fx8350, will bottleneck the gtx1060, then the cpu will run in full speed when you play the games, the chain reaction will cause the motherboard VRMs overheat, and the pc will shutdown randomly, because the 760 chipset MB has lower power phase count, we don't recommend to use the fx 8 series cpu with it. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q7lIYRK5T0ABLvAkgbM_2jJGvbhlep27mR-eRcCy4FA/edit#gid=0

You may save more $$ to upgrade the whole PC to the new AMD cpu, Ryzen or intel system.

Would you suggest running the 1060 with this at all then? If this is dependant on the cooler, I have a cooler master hyper 212 EVO installed right now, would that be of any help? And would the RX 480 8GB be a good substitute instead of the 1060?
