Hi guys,

Not sure if this belongs in another section. Apologies if so.

I usually work in audio electronics, but recently thought it would be fun to refurb and mod an old Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. All went well, save for one incident: due to sheer negligence and clumsiness, i sent a high voltage spike (possibly 240VAC) into the SCART input of my HDTV, damaging both the AV board and my Palit GTX1060 further downstream. Toshiba conveniently left every single zener off the AV board.

Both the TV and my GPU are goners, but i figure i have nothing to lose from trying to repair the GPU, with the advice of those more knowledgable. I have very little SMD experience, but this could be a good chance to learn. I can't spot any obvious problems on the board.

I have a DMM and a USB oscilloscope (up to 300MHz or so). I don't have a spare PSU, but presumably I could use my PC's PSU to debug.

If anyone's willing to help me out, I'll happily take pictures and follow instructions. A huge thanks in advance if anyone's interested.

Cheers,

-Grant
