GTX1060 sudden low fps

Recently my frames dropped all of a sudden from a usual Vsync at 59-61 fps to 18-50 fps

My specs are:
GPU:GTX1060
CPU: Intel i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz
16GB ram
Geforce driver version:385.28(recently updated)

run hwinfo or msi afterburner and monitor cpu & gpu temps while gaming

something might be thermal throttling

Yeah like blockhead78 said, that sounds like thermal throttling of the GPU without a custom fan curve set. What games are you playing?

just like guys said thermal. Check dust and fan / therma settings on your card.

Yes, it sounds a case of thermal throttling. Could you report your current chassis, CPU and graphic card cooling setup? And CPU&GPU idle/load temps?
