Gtx295 does MB need to support sli to run 1 ?

Does a gtx 295 require that your motherboard supports sli ? the whole point of me getting this card is because i bought a prefab machine that does not support sli. i have a 1000 watt power supply.

I hear you, just remember to uninstall the old vga drivers first regardless of whether they are Nvidia or ATi, install card connect power and install the 190.38's from the Nvidia website.

Thanks, any idea if an overclocking utility comes with this ? I have heard that riva tuner does not work with this the gtx295

The latest update may have fixed that, get it from here where you can also get EVGA Precision 1.8 should you wish to try that.
