GTX300s (GTX295 vs. HD5870)

I was just wondering...watching all these youtube videos, it seems like the GTX295 vs. HD5870, the HD5870 wins clearly with 80-100w less power consumption.

The question is, do you think when the GTX300's come out, it will perform on par or better WITH about the same power usage as the HD5870 or less? or do Nvidia cards always use so much more?

if your willing to wait ~6 months, the nvidia card should be the quicker part and by the sounds of it also the more expensive, hotter and will also consume more power

They certainly don't always use much more power, but given the size, complexity, and features of the card it is plausible that this one will.
