Where would one place a GTX460SLI setup in the Graphics Hierarchy chart ? Which single gpu card would it be equivalent to ? I have heard that its SLI scaling is pretty impressive , so i would love to know if the SLI setup can handle most of the demanding games @ 1680*1050 (med-high settings) .What would be the optimum fan speed settings for a single GTX460 @ various temperature zones . Thats pretty much it

SLI 460s at 1680x1050 will completely max out almost anything at great frame rates. Let the cards' automatic fan speed control do its thing.

A dedicated physx card offloads the processing of physx effects such as cloth simulation and particle physics/destruction to another GPU. Normally physx can be done on the normal GPU

ie. the 460s would do it as well as the normal graphics, but adding another gpu just to do the physx would increase the frame rate by a decent amount, but only in games where physx is heavily used, and there aren't many of those.

That sound's promising mate . The next series of Nvidia and ATI cards would be out by the time i build my new rig . So, i guess i should wait to see if i would be better off with an SLI setup or a single card . Anyways thanks for the information on dedicated physx cards
