I want to overclock my GTX650 for more fps ingame, I currently have MSI afterburner(the newest version) and noticed the core clock and memory clock sliders. It seems like an attractive prospect to adjust these sliders to my liking though im scared of damage that might occur. So I would like to know how much I can adjust these sliders for overclocking with these computer specs below.

Computer specifications:
gigabyte ga-h61m-s1 motherboard
G620 2.6 Ghz dual core cpu
GTX650 2 GB Ram
8 GB ddr 3 1033 Mhz ram

Solution
The only thing that matters here are your power supply, and cooling.

You need to see how hot your GPU is running at the moment, in a demanding game, at the current settings it's at.
You can kind of cheat here and whack your GPU fan to max for the duration of this test. GPU cards can get pretty warm before thermal cut-out (generally about 100C) - I wouldn't aim for greater than 90C personally.

once you have done that, tweak in small increments with the fan back to normal, until it becomes unstable (i.e. crashes or artefacts) or the fan noise drives you mad. whichever is sooner

Its worth noting this wont allow you to increase game settings, but you will see a minimal to moderate increase in FPS

Have fun
