I bought a GTX950 and get a black screen on boot.

I have upgraded the PSU to 550W.

Still get the black screen.

Is the motherboard perhaps not compatible?

Things to check in the bios. Do you have IGD Multi-Monitor Enabled(bios - > Advanced -> VGA Memory-> IGD Multi-Monitor Enabled)? If so the system may want to boot on the onboard video card. If this is the case try to connect the monitor to that port and see if you have video. If you disable this you should only boot off the dedicated card.

Your board has has a CSM mode(Bios -> Boot -> Launch CSM) to support hardware that is not uefi ready(I would guess a 950 would be, but it never hurts to have a look at that area.)

Last would be checking the bios for Secure Boot under Security disable or see if you have a compatibility option for Secure Boot Mode(CSM may have them all).

I am also unaware of Windows 7 even being able to use secure boot so If it is on it is not a feature you would use.

To disable secure boot(if enabled), you will need to use onboard video if the current card is not showing video.

In general a 950 should work on almost any system, but at the end of the day some boards(even more common on boards used in OEM[dell,HP,ect] systems.)

The IGD is disabled and has been all along, but boots the onboard vga, nothing but black screen on the card.

CSM is enabled and has been all along.

I tried to go back to the 570 card but now that is also giving me a black screen on boot.

The onboard video is currently the only option that works.

Does it matter if the board is PCI 2.0 and the 950 is PCI 3.0?

To clear this up. With a card in the slot, you do or do not get video on the onboard video?

Your settings seem right and you mention having a 570 before so I can not see the board having issues in that respect.

The 2.0 slot should have no issues. I do not have a 9 series card to test with, but have used 6XX and 10XX cards on both pci-e 1.1 and 2.0 slots.

If the 570 is no longer working, that is strange if it worked before. Did you ensure the power was connected to that card?
