GTX960 G1 (Heaven Benchmark) Results Check (so hard to find)

I don't know why but it's so damn hard to find results on internet for this gpu on stock with proper settings like 1080p, 8xAA, Tess=Extreme so basically max.

I get on my 960 g1 - 33fps and 844 points average (I did 10 times benchmark). Just need confirmation that everything is good there since I have a bit terrible coilwhine but I don't care. It's i5 6600k @ 4.4ghz along 8gb ddr4 2133 ram.

dono why Unigine doesnt seem to benefit much from OC/myOC, but i can tell you that the in game difference will be positive, might not be Huge either, but again, 960 wasnt meant for 1080p Ultra, going from 30 stock to above wth OC in Rise of TR, even tho only like 10fps, is still nice, and...
so i just ran heaven on my system to compare and it seems about right
in fact your scores was strangely slightly above mine despite my GPU running at 1482, which is beyond stock
avrg 32 fps, and an 811 score, on a 9604gb 1482Mhz and i7 6700k @ 4.6GHz 32gb ddr4 2800MHz win 7 64 bit
ran it multiple times to confirm so seems to be in the ballpark
you gotta remember, the 960 wasnt meant to be a 1080p ultra gpu, so i would say this score we got is pretty decent for the lower end of the lines

on a realworld game application comparative note: i get between 30-45fps in Rise of the Tomb Raider on ultra (50fps in some lucky peak moments)

Yes I'm aware of that. In fact I did +100mV +135% Power Limit, +100mhz core + 300 memory so it was on 1530/8000 and I got score at around 917 and 36.1

So like..what ? Overclocking doesn't work in Heaven ? Haha :) I was a bit worried. It all went stable for 5 times aswel. Hopefully in games it's better. Wife is playing H1Z1/Diablo 3 on that PC so GPU is doing pretty darn good job, including tests in Witcher 3, Dying Light and Rise of the Tomb Raider on stock. I'm a bit tired of testing so glad that I hear that you have same weird results.

Would you mind running some other benchmark like Valley ? On those overclocked settings, really weird :/

Usually on 7950/770/970 and now 980ti +100mhz brings around 7-8fps in benchmarks like this. Or it's the thing that it can't run benchmark properly in 1080p for some reason but still there should be noticable difference.

Definitely weird. I do get higher on stock again. I guess I will try Rise of the Tomb Raider or even better TR from 2013 with Tessalation with and without clocks. I bought this card for my wife and 1440x900 monitor but she went on 1080p, she doesn't care about details and I do have gaming rig which can handle higher details if she wants. I just though that I should overclock gpu as I usually do as soon as I buy one..

I might keep this on stock.

Your OC just means that your GPU has a good Asic Quality and it can reach high clocks

I know, I didn't talk about OC potential, it's about performance per clock. It doesn't seems that overclock is contributing anything to 960 in 1080p.

In fact guy who has overclocked gpu with extra ~60mhz have lower fps and score then mine on stock which doesn't make sense..

Asic is only 73.8%.. But as I said I'm here for performance per clock 🙁

You cant talk about +50 or +100 cause for example +50 on palit edition is 1450mhz while in MSI it is 1400... Just say the clock

My Palit Super Jestream 960 with a shitty 64% asic quality is on 4000mhz memory and 1480mhz core and in heaven it had a score of 898 and 35.7fps

It's 1405 on stock, I got 1530 on +100 due to voltage increase. I'm aware of that. Whole point at the end of the day is that overclocking 960 g1 in my case can contribute 3-5fps max. So it's not worth bothering and having random crashes sometimes.

On old 970/980ti now I have like 10-15+ increasement. But since stock is ~32fps and after clocking +3fps that is roughly 10% so it's ok in theory. I forgot about that.

if your wife doesnt matter that much about details, there is nothing wrong in going high/very high custom mix, to get a smoother FPS; the 960 works fine on 1080p, and great for teh price considered, its all about teh tweaking 😉
60fps on high/very high/custom mix in a game is well worth it going down from Ultra, so no shame in that
