I bought the MSI GTX970 100ME edition
The only way to get a signal to allow me install the drivers and to have the card recognized is by switched the bios setting from PEG to IDG.

Now i'm pretty new to hardware/software shit as i only play videogames and don't really bother much with the rest of it. So i have no clue what the difference is between PEG & IDG.
Does it matter that I now use IDG to boot my pc?

Will this affect my cards performance? Or is there any downside to this?
I'm not sure what i really changed by switching this setting, so I was wondering if anybody could explain it in english and not in tech-talk 😀

PEG is the setting used by external (pci-e) graphics cards. IGD is used for onboard (internal graphics display) graphics (Intel HD4000 etc) and should be automatically disabled when a discrete gpu is installed. It's fine to force IGD so you can download and install drivers for the gpu, but you should put your bios settings back to auto or PEG after you install the gpu drivers.
