GTX980 Game Crashes

So over the past few days I have been running into Nvidia driver errors that either show a grey or black screen until i reboot (can't alt+f4 out of anything or open task manager), freeze my game for a number of minutes, or reboot my computer entirely. I have already tried underclocking my card significantly (a couple hundred for the memory and core clock) but that didn't end up helping. I am running on 361.43 drivers on a GTX980. This issue comes up in any game that I play on here from rocket league to league of legends. I didn't start having these issues until I did a system refresh about a week ago (and yes I already have installed and updated all of my drivers)

Uninstall current drivers with DDU(In safe mode) then reinstall drivers

Now my screen just randomly goes black or grey. I'm not on the most recent version of the driver now (this has only happened in League thus far today, but it happened twice in one game (aka very frequent) whereas all of my other games have been running fine).

Download a previous driver then uninstall with DDU and then reinstall with the older drivers.
