GTX980-P 4GD5 - Has anyone heard of this card?

Just got it as a replacement for my dying 970. What is this card? I expected the usual run of the mill 980, but I got this. Any insight?

I would guess that it has been refurbished rather than being brand new. Did this come from ASUS warranty?

Not much else to say really. For the time that was a pretty good card and still a good 1080p performer today. Should be a little bit faster than a GTX1060 in most games, though a few run faster on the 1060 due to newer design.

Well, surprisingly, I spoke with Asus support and they said it's a new model that has never been sold, just a part reserved for replacements. So, does that answer your question? That's as much info as I got :/

You misinterpret what I say. ASUS said the specific card they gave me was new. I understand the cards line was first produced in 2014.
