GTX980 SLI, GTX780ti SLI or Other??

WHich is better for PURE PERFORMANCE in games at 1440p resolution not regarding price, power consumption, noise, cooling, etc... only performance which is better? If anything else thats around $1000-1200 is better then tell me that please! Thanks!

I suggest the 980s because the 780ti takes up a whole lot of juice compared to most other cards and you cant go wrong with Nvidias best GPU series yet. Also I'm sure SLI would would better with the new architecture of the 980s.

I would say between the 2 GTX 980 sli would win, even if only it has more vram. Many games are starting to use 4+GB of vram for ultra game settings, even at 1080p.

Performance is about the same right now. I've seen benchmarks that favor the 980 and then I've seen those that favor the 780 ti. The thing is that the stock 980 is clocked a lot higher than a stock 780 ti. I saw a review that compared them both at 1200mhz core clock and the 780 ti was faster in every game. On the other hand the 980 overclocks monstrously. I have a 780 ti and if they were priced equally I'd go for the 980 since it's the new hottness but the 780 ti prices dropped so much that it can be had for a lot less than the 980 now. Also the 980 is almost impossible to find currently.
