Yes, seriously. Has anyone read this 15 book saga? This series is the BOMB.

I've laughed, I've cried and seriously, anyone who assumes this series is for children all because the characters are all owls are misinformed.

There is brutal murder in this, there is drama dealing with being deformed, mental insanity, being an orphan, betrayal, being kidnapped, FREAKING CANNIBALISM, this series is INSANE. The movie does it no justice. Though the movie is awesome.

I'm honestly afraid to finish the last book because I don't want the story to end, I love it that much.

We are a sick society today with all the killings and violence portrayed in the movies and television. Also books today play an integral part of our deviant behavior in our sick minds also.Gimme back the 50's and 60's anyway.

I agree with you musical marv. Though, the violence in this book is accurate about the nature of animals. It's not a grotesque violent slash fest of literature, so much as it is about sentient animals living in a politically plotted storyline.

Hey, owls kill things. It's not violence. It's nature. I just meant to emphasize these aspects of the book because I feel too many people would judge it by it's cover, "Oh, talking owls? Childs stuff." when this book actually visits important dramatic issues that are in many ways, human.

This book holds morality and honor above all vile and vulgar ideas. I appreciate it's morals.

The reason my wife and I picked up the book is because we loved the morals portrayed in the film, and the book goes miles beyond that.

there was so much violence in the literature of the 50s and the 60s.
I see absolutely no correlation between literature and the state of society.

There may even be more violence in literature at the time.
Today, those who write do not have much freedom and can no longer afford to write what they want for fear of offending public opinion.
The single thought is bullshit... cause us monumental loss.
