Guidance fixing issues

My desktop is having various issues. I need some guidance to determine the cause of the following:

- freezing during windows 10 logo upon startup
- random freezing while in windows (playing games but also when just web browsing)
- upon restarting after a freeze, my monitor light blinks and nothing happens. Can take at least 5 attempts to restart to get monitor to work (I usually hear windows sound as if it loaded but screen does not turn on)

I'm assuming this could be vga card, mem, psu, or mobo.

Asrock x79 extreme mobo
Intel i7-3820
EVGA GTX560
Rosewill 750W psu
Corsair 2x4gb ddr3
Crucial 250gb ssd

Always had these issues?

is the ram placed in the most outer sockets away from the cpu?
Is XMP enabled?
Can you test with another gpu since this one is getting old?

Issues started happening 1mo ago. Computer was built at the end of 2012. The ram is far from cpu and i disabled XMp. I just reseated the GPU and so far 3 days without any freezing. Maybe that was it!!!
