Can someone help me with understanding cooling (as in parts, temps, and products) what is the deal with cooling ive been pc gaming for years and i dont understand what my cooling is, has been and can be. Thanks for any answers

Solution

if youre coming from the stock cooler the 212EVO would be a worthy upgrade.
Computers get hot when they run because of all the electricity going through them. Better cooling (fans, liquid pumps, etc) keep the temperatures lower, thereby allowing for higher overclocks and at the most basic level, it prevents your PC from bursting into flame.

well i know all that but i want to know the setups and components people use and how i should use mine to keep my pc regulated

Yeah, when you say you "don't know what cooling is" that leaves it pretty ambiguous.
As Beezy suggested, you'd be better off posting your PC specs so we know if it needs better cooling, and what kind of cooling solutions would work.

yeh im on stock, what a derp.
thats why i need more help understanding more components etc.

well for 30$ you cant beat the Cooler Master HYPER 212 EVO. It rivals other 40 and 50 dollar coolers easily. The next step up in air cooling would be the Noctua DH-14 or whatever its called, around 80$. After that you want to look into 240mm radiator Liquid cooling for the CPU because the 120mm radiators will give you similar results as the air coolers (u want something like the Corsair H100i or H110).

They all work basically the same way, a block/heatsink draws heat away from the CPU and with air coolers the fans blow the hot air out of the heatsink grills to cool it down, as to allow it to draw more heat from the CPU, continuous cooling. The only difference with water/liquid cooling is water is a much better medium over air when it comes to transferring heat.
