G'day Tom's Hardware,
I recently bought a gigabyte gtx970.
I know a place in Australia that sells micro porous ceramic heatsinks for less than $2 each so those naked gddr chips on the back of the card are getting heatsinks.
I realize it's not really necessary but since I plan to overclock the card I figure it can't hurt and with heatsinks of this performance for this price why the hell not.
I plan on chucking heatsinks on the ram chips and the four chips that are directly behind the GPU (not sure if they generate much heat themselves but they're right behind the GPU so I figure they'll get hot regardless).
I may as well order everything I need all at once.
So I'm just wondering is there anything else that could benefit from a heatsink?
Is that a mosfet down the bottom of card? (the side with the output ports)
Do any of those other IC generate much heat?
Cheers.
here is a link to that site if there are any other aussies on here looking for heatsinks, or anyone if you're having trouble finding what you need, with a selection this big they will probably have something to suit, they ship internationally too.
