[H] Dell Inspiron 530 videocard upgrade

Help,

Windows 7 drivers say I currently have a Radeon X300/X550/X1050.

mid-size case (not slim)
Intel Dual Core 2.0GHZ
2 GB RAM
150-160GB hard drive.
300 watt power supply
Desktop resolution 1440 x 900 (widescreen)

I was about to get this:

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3

since it was fast and has NO NOISY FAN. When I read the specification PDF file, it said minimum system requirement is power supply that provides at least 450 watt and with one 2x3 pin PCIe power connector.

Without upgrading the PSU, what are some good alternative videocards? I'm a gamer.

Yeah, the 4850 uses a bit of juice there ^_^. Anyway the rest of your system doesn't use too much power, so you should be able to use a 4670, maybe. A safe bet would be the 9500GT, uses less power than the 4670, but don't expect to play newer games at high settings on it.

Holy crap! I was thinking about going with ATI videocard, but the free 3D glasses by Nvidia is too tempting.

EDIT: Nevermind. They are the cheap crappy red and blue variant. Not the stereoscopic 3D glasses that go for around $200.

Thanks for the help. I'll pass on the 9800 GT since it seems that it heats up a lot and noisy.

The HIS IceQ cost little bit more than most Radeon, but it seems well worth it due to it being quiet and cooler than the alternatives.
