H100i Compatibility with Corsair 350D

Hey guys,

I'm building a nice computer for my mom and she wanted water cooling while maintaining a pretty small case.

I have a Corsair 350D that is both Micro ATX and Mini ITX

The specs on Corsairs website says the case is compatable with almost all of their AIO coolers.

Well I bought the H80i for it and I have to tell you that with a Mini ITX motherboard that thing doesnt work anywhere in that case except for the rear exhaust port and even then you have to mount the pump first and then the radiator because it almost covers the entire half of the mobo.

But anyway I did some research and the H80i's tubing is 3 inches shorter then the H100i 9 inches compared to 12 inches.

I know that the H100i is mountable in the front of the case. Will it reach the CPU socket on a Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI motherboard?

I have a really long Gigabyte R9 270X going in there as well so the tube can't be in the way.

So you should be OK with a h110i.

Well when I put the H80i up there the tubing was too short to make it to the CPU socket. I just want to make sure this one will make it before I buy it. I already have to go through the hassle of returning the other one. Thank goodness for good Amazon CS

You probably could have removed your back fan, and put the H80i there, just saying. It would have saved a fair bit of effort on your part (Returns, Customer service.)

Anyway, you should be able to mount the H100i with the tubing at the back end of the case, the tubes will just slightly obscure the Corsair logo on the CPU block. I have my H100i mounted in my 500R like that, it works fine.

What did you use to mount the radiator directly to the top of the case?

It only comes with those long screws that you are supposed to mount through a fan.

If you look carefully at those pictures, you can see screws holding on the fans, which would be the long screws.

Im guessing the person who built these computers used small screws on the top of the case to hold the radiator onto the top, and the large screws for the fans.

That is to mount in a 'push' arrangement.

An alternative is 'pull', where you would mount the fans between the case and radiator, and the long screws would pass through the top of the case, fans and into the radiator.

I asked that question because I just looked it up and apparently the only way that corsair wants you to mount the h80i is in a push pull configuration so they give you double the long screws.

The h100i comes with short screws.

I found my installation manual.

H100i comes with both 8 long (Part code D) and 8 short (Part code E) screws.

The H100i can be mounted in push pull, but Corsair would expect that most cases that have enough room for push pull on a 240mm radiator, would also provide some long screws.

For most people, push OR pull is enough for their H100i, so there are only 8 long screws provided.

You use the short screws to hold the radiator onto the case, and then the long screws hold the fans onto the bottom of the radiator, in a push config.

My 500R came with 8 long fan screws, which i have used to mount fans onto my drive bays, but i could have used them for push pull instead, if i had more clearance between my VRM heatsinks and the radiator..

If you want to mount more fans for push pull, you would use the long fans to hold the one pair of fans and the radiator onto the case, and then use the included short screws to hold the pushing fans onto the bottom of the radiator.

The short screws will only be able to pass through the mounts closest to the radiator instead of both screw holes on the fans, but they should work.

I figured out that if you wanna mount the rad in the front you have to take all the drive bays out lol. I guess ill be putting it in the top thanks for the pics
