H100i future socket support?

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to the custom PC arena so I haven't experienced a socket transition. I was wondering what heat sink/water block manufacturers tend to do when AMD or Intel moves to a new socket. Specifically Corsair since I have an H100i.

I see that most coolers tend to support a wide range of sockets by including different mounting brackets. Would Corsair make a new mounting bracket for the H100i if a later generation of socket comes out that isn't currently supported or would I be forced to buy the future equivalent of the H100i? Basically I want to know if the H100i is "future proof" or not.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Intel hasn't changed much LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1150, and supposedly LGA1151 are all interchangeable.

LGA2011 and LGA2011-V3 are all the same form factor as well.

AMD tends to stick with socket sizes the longest. AM1 through AM3+ sockets are all mechanically the same.

Generally the manufacturer of cooling solutions will keep you covered with alternate mounting hardware for popular equipment as well.
