I recently have had my CPU to start to overheat. Getting to 70c on Far Cry 4 and 90c running prime95 26.6. I have a H100I GTX liquid cooler and my cpu has turbo turned off. I tried reapplying thermal paste with different methods a lot of times and the temps still rose. Forward to today I'm running prime95 and just trying things I read about. Pushing on the CPU block. Checking fans. Tube temps. (One was hot, the other cold). until I decided to tap on the tubes and just like that my temps are now hovering in the low 60s. My question is is this something that will happen again and again where they will rise? And if so how do I fix it and what was the issue? Thanks for reading.

Solution
Sounds like an air bubble got in there at some point, perhaps. If it happens again, remove the cooler. Make sure the radiator's little reservoir is the highest point and shake it around, or run the pump.

It really isn't advisable to open a closed loop up, but that is a last resort. Those models aren't that old, what's the warranty look like?

That's what I was thinking that an air bubble got in there somehow, Ok I will try those if my temps seem to go back up. And I bought it last year and corsair has a 5 year warranty on these units. So I still got a while.
