H100i GTX thermal paste question

Hello I bought this new cooler the other day and I was wondering how necessary it is to apply your own thermal paste as opposed to the preapplied paste. I plan on overclocking but nothing extreme more like trying to get 4.5 on an i5.

Also I was wondering what to do about the thermal paste from the previous cooler. I used my own thermal paste on the stock cooler and installed that about 6 months ago. If I do need to remove it what would I use to clean off the cpu and cooler?

If somebody could answer these questions i'd appreciate it.

Solution
Remove old thermal paste using cloth with high concentration rubbing alcohol. You don't need to apply your own thermal paste because it was preapplied. Only if you remove h100i and then put it back will you need to apply a new one.
