H100i not being detected by Link

Alright so I JUST installed the H100i about 2 days ago. I'm coming here asking for help as a kind of last resort since thus far Corsair technical support has been...less than accommodating.

Anyway, enough of that rant. Here are the things I know, and the things I've tried.

• My PC is detecting the device as an unknown device in every single USB header. I'm assuming this means that it's a software issue or incompatibility problem, but I'm not an expert. All I know it's detecting SOMETHING, even if it can't figure out what.

• I've tried about 4 different versions of Corsair Link, including the newest one. No dice on an easy solution there.

• Remember how it said a known issue is that on some z97 intel boards (which I have) you might need to disconnect the 'legacy USB support' in the BIOS? I disconnected it. Still nothing.

• Both the fans that it came with and the 3pin (AF120 Corsair) fans that I want to use have been tried. Neither of those causes a change in...well anything.

• The LED lights up white, the fans (and the fan LED's on the AF120's) are working. They're not ever changing in speed but they're running.

  • I have tried the regedit that they ask you to do with the 8.1 Still no luck. It did not change a thing. Although the regedits DID stay to what I changed them to after the reset.

To sum it up: I've tried different USB headers, different Link versions, and about 65 restarts all said and done. Nothing has change since it was first installed. Also, the temperatures aren't any better than my stock fan. So I'm not sure the pump is working. That's the whole reason I want Link on to check. Don't care about the LED color. At this point I'm wondering why I even bought it since it's not doing better than stock air cooling and support doesn't seem to care.

Relative specs are:

Mobo = Z97-AR asus

CPU = i5 4690k

PSU = EVGA 650 G2 fully modular

cooling is H100i

Windows 8.1

This is an extremely frustrating problem to have. I use the H80i with a Z97-A and had the same issue when I first installed. The legacy USB support didn't make any difference. But the real ah heck with this is making sure AI Suite III is not running, nor are any of the ASUS monitoring services. Basically, use msconfig to disable all ASUS programs and services from starting. I believe I also had to disable some services in services.msc to get it to finally recognize that thing. I wish I could be more exact but it's been a few months since I got it. I'll check back so let me know how it goes.
