I bought 2400 when this was being built by somebody, I asked for 2400 ram without realizing that motherboard only supported 2133. However when I go to CPU-Z the DRAM Frequency says 1198 mhz, which means x 2=2400?

Is this possible?

I am planning to add another 8g stick but confused which speed to get. I also asked another question in Memory section on my memory being MICRO Brand which I cannot find anything about on the net.

Thanks for your help!

Never mind. Just found this . I have i5 so my one will run at 2400

2 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR4 2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
* Due to Intel® chipset limitation, DDR4 2400MHz memory frequency is only supported by 7th Generation Intel® processors. Higher memory modules will run at the maximum transfer rate of DDR4 2400MHz.
** Due to Intel® chipset limitation, DDR4 2133MHz and higher memory modules on 6th Generation Intel® processors will run at the maximum transfer rate of DDR4 2133MHz.
