Hi everyone,

Just finished building my brand new workstation/gaming build. Everything went alright until I went in to check the temps. My CPU idle temp varies from 57°C all the way to 80°C. BIOS reports around 35-45°C idle. I've installed the Corsair iCUE and temp shown there is around 28-31°C, pump at 2440 RPM, fans idle at around 550 RPM. I've tried changing the thermal paste, didn't help at all. Radiator feels kinda warm and the pump feels like it's working. Radiator is mounted horizontally at the top of the case. Triple checked all the connectors and everything's plugged in correctly.

Would also like to add that I had these small dent-like things on one side of the radiator upon taking it out of the box (other side looked untouched):

Specs:
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X
Corsair Hydro Series H115i RGB Platinum
Asus Zenith Extreme
16 GB (2x8gb) G.Skill 3200MHz
AMD Radeon Gigabyte RX 560 (temporary)
Corsair HX850 Platinum 80+

Windows 10

Thanks!

EDIT: My temp readings are from Speccy, just installed AIDA64 and it says 35 to 40°C MAX on idle. Could it be that the Speccy is giving me false readings?

Something is not right. I have the same cooler as you and my idle temps are 27c on my i9 9900K with my fan profile set, my fans as well run at 450-500 rpm at this temp. I have the pump set to balanced in icue.

i did create a custom fan profile as stated. my fans go max rpm (2000) at about 70c .

Also my radiator did not have any dents in it. Did you just buy the cooler recently? Is it under warranty?

Not really sure what else to check as you have done all the things i would know to check.

Completely new build. Sadly no, I do not have regular fan for this socket.

I did a bit of digging online and it seems like 35-40°C idle is a normal temp range for this CPU. I've also read that this AIO wasn't designer for the Threadripper (even tho it works perfectly fine for everyone using it) so the weird temps might be because of that fact.

Anyways, I spent a couple hours playing Subnautica and Division just to see how it preforms under a load. Never got over 55°C at max settings on both games, no FPS drops, no freezes, no overheating or anything weird.
