Hi,

So I'm planning to get a H500P mesh case but I'm afraid that it won't fit the clc 280mm cooler with the z490 extreme4 motherboard.
I saw several people having a problem with that because of the heat sink of the motherboard.
However, I don't know how to check on that because I don't see any info on the size of the heat sink.
ASRock Z490 Extreme4

Will the h500p mesh be enough for those parts?
I have the cpu cooler and motherboard ordered but didn't get the case yet so I decided to check before getting it.

I don't have a lot of options here in my country and the h500p mesh is one of the best cases I could got (Looking a case with good airflow).

Solution
I had the motherboard and the d15s cooler ready in my newegg cart and was just waiting for the 10700k to be in stock. I woke up at night and said lemme check newegg and see then boom the 10700k was available.
Quickly added it to the cart and tried to check out but the d15s was out of stock at that time. I remembered that the clc 280 had good reviews and thermal results and decided to get one (they actually priced very close with the shipping).

This is the thread I saw about the problem.

The issue is not with the asrock motherboard in particular. It actually happened with asus mb.
It seems to me to be case design defect for top mount of...
You're supposed to place the AIO at the front set to intake air into the case. I'd ask you to look at a case from Fractal-Design. They make some good cases or the NR600 by Coolermaster.

I don't think I'll install it in the front. The case won't be looking good specially with non rgb radiator fans.
Won't the top installation work?

Fractal design cases are basically not exist locally and also the NR600.
Buying the case from newegg or amazon will cost me ton to ship it to my country.

H500 P mesh is an excellent case with two 200mm front intake fans.
You really do not want to change that out.
What is the cpu you need to cool with a 280 aio?
I suggest that you change the 280mm aio order for a good twin tower air cooler like the noctua NH-D15s.
It will cool equally well, be cheaper, more reliable, and quieter.

I have a i7 10700k and already got a clc 280
The problem is getting a new premium air cooler requires me to order it online and it will take ~3 weeks or more to be delivered so I'm kinda stuck with what I got : [

You were very fortunate to snag a i7-10700K, they are in short supply. Good job there.

I am surprised that the clc you ordered may have issues with your motherboard.
Do you have a link that discusses that?

If true, I don't see how the case has anything to do with it.
There should be plenty of room to mount the cooler at the top.
The pumps are small and should fit any motherboard.
You may need to change out the motherboard or the clc in which case your build will be delayed regardless.

There are other good noctua options such as the NH-U14s.
The nh-D15 and NH-U14 are also good, but if you have tall ram heat spreaders that can cause a problem.
Phanteks has some good twin tower coolers.

Newegg is good about returns, particularly if you have not opened the package so they can resell it as new.
If you explain that the clc 280 is incompatible with your case, I am certain that they will allow you to return in in favor of another alternative.
