H60 fan / pump connections

Hello, my H60 was installed pm an ASUS P8Z77-V mobo with the fan connected to the "cpu_fan" header and the pump connected to the "cpu_opt" header. Is this the correct way to connect the pump? Is the cpu_opt header a constant 12 v (as Corsair recommends) or does it change speed like / with the cpu-fan?

It is the correct way but you must make sure your bios doesn't have a cool n quiet option enabled,
If your psu has a connection on it which most will your better off to have the pump powered directly from the psu,
Corsair should pack more clear and precise instructions with there liquid coolers
