H80i 46-51 degrees Idle

I installed my H80i today and it was idling from 70-80 degrees. I took the CPU block off and noticed that block wasn't making fully contact with the CPU because only one half of the CPU had the thermal compound. I applied the compound to the side and it seem to lower the temperatures to 46-51 degrees. Do you think I should reapply the whole thermal compound?

I read that it could be the back mounting bracket.
