Hello there. As of recently I've noticed that my temps on my CPU have increased quite a bit. I'm using a fx-8350. I used to run it overclocked, but not right now.

Apperantly when i run BF4 for a while my temps go very high even with watercooling. However the casue of this might be because I'm using a r9 290 windforce. It runs at about 84c on load.

And I haven't even increased the voltage on my cpu. All power saving features are disabled just like i had them before. The only difference is that I'm using a r9 290 now instead of my gtx 660 which used to be very cool.

I'm using a fractal design define R4 with 3 fans for intake and the h80i + one 140mm fan for outtake.

Also the fans are running at 1200rpm constantly.
I had to remove my H80i before when I was playing around with my psu's cables. Maybe I did something there?

Help? If i go back to my old overclock this cpu would be well over 60c
Also, if my R9 290's heat is the source of the problem. Will it help to let my h80i take air into the case instead of exhausting air?

you're now putting hot air through the radiator instead of cool air. it's ok, just flip the fans on the radiator and have it mountd on the back as intake.
then put two fans in the top of your case as exhaust.

you'll also want a $10 magnetic dust filter to put over your top rear, which is now unfiltered intake.

so you have fresh air to the GPU via the front/side fans, fresh air to the CPU via the rear intake/rad, and all the heat exhausting up top

The r9 290's make a lot of heat, so you're internal case is getting a lot hotter than it used to be. See if you can find a place to have another cold air intake fan into your case and this will help a bit.

I'd remount it, using the X method.

Or, like I like to do, which keeps all cores much cooler... Since the dot method is antiquated.

Keep the lines thin, apply, and then pull off to see how it went. Assuming you've got good coverage, do again. I saw good temp decreases once I started doing it like this... On all cores.

Doesn't this vary from cpu to cpu? But I may try it later on.

As for now I think I'm going to let my h80i take in air from outside. I'll be adding on a second r9 290 in the future anyway and I'll probably start a fire when that happens. Thanks for the answers :)

You mean that i use a filter for my h80i in the back of case? Where the I/O plate is located. And can you give me an exampel of a magnetic fan filter?
