I tried changing the port the fan header was connected in to the cpu header.
that didn't do anything.

I tired swapping the usb header to a different slot. and that didn't work.

If i try and change fan speed in the bios it only changes pump speed and not fan speed.

I've looked in other threads and i saw you had to go into the registry and edit a file
but when i looked in the registry the files were not the same as in the thread (I'm assuming this is because the op was on windows 8.1)

build-
cpu: i5 6600k
cooler: corsair h80i
gpu: msi gtx 1060 3gb
mobo: asus b150 pro gaming

Why not just change the USB cable?

It's a micro USB cable which can be found off the shelf and is a staple platform for smart phones(prior to USB type-C's introduction).

If it's truly found to be broken you can make do with what you used to verify it was damaged or pick this up.
Are you on the H80i or the H80i V2? It should only be connected to the CPU_FAN header. Have you made sure your BIOS is up to date? Are you trying to regulate the fans manually or are you trying to dial it down? You may want to uninstall and reinstall the Corsair Link app under an elevated command, that is, Right click installer>Run as Administrator. Remember to open the installed app in an elevated command as well.

im on the v2, i have tried to connect it to the cpu header and that had no effect.

i looked in the device manager and the usb port is giving me a error message (error 43)

OK so I am clear on your install...you connected the two fans on the h80i to the 2 connectors coming off the pump, and connected the third three pin connector to the cpu header(usually 4 pins but you can still connect it). And you connected the usb cable to a 2.0 port and connected the usb to the pump?

Pertaining to your OS, the file structure for Windows's platform since XP is based on Windows NT. So they should be in the same place in spite of being a revision apart. That being said, have you made sure your drivers for your chipset and USB host controller drivers are up to date?

I also have the same problem. Just after installing windows 10. I don't think its my usb micro wire. I have h80i the first one. All was working fine before windows 10. Not sure what to do? Did you tried another cable? Did it work? please come back with some answer!

Hey i found the problem to this. I also had the same problem with my h80i. Turns out it was only in the wrong usb2 port at the bottom of the motherboard ( the ones in blue ). Just try other usb2 port and it should detect it now... Well worked for me.
