Hi.
I have Asus H81 gamer board.
Currently i'm using 8gb of 1600mhz ram (2x 4gb)
My board has 4 DDR3 slots.
I want to upgrade to 16gigs by adding the same kit i'm using now, so i would have 4x4gb.
(I'm using HyperX Savage CL9 sticks - https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-1600MHz-Non-ECC-HX316C9SR/dp/B00N8H05MA?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0 )

Here comes the problem - There is some warning at Asus website about "H81 chipset limitations"
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81GAMER/specifications/

**
4 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 1600/1333/1066 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory *
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
* Due to Intel® chipset limitation, DDR3 1600 MHz and higher memory modules on XMP mode will run at the maximum transfer rate of DDR3 1600 Mhz.
* Due to Intel® chipset limitation, this motherboard can only support single-side memories when four modules are installed and they will run at the maximum transfer rate of DDR3 1066 MHz.

I don't really know what this means, so i'm asking here, can I buy another 2x4gb kit, or do i have to buy 2x8gb kit.

Thanks for every answer

+1 If you try and have problems, give a shout and we can try voltage/timing adjustments
Combining multiple kits can cause compatibility problems, such as being unable to boot or unable to operate at rated specifications. Multiple kit combinations do not have any guarantee that they will work together. A single kit is guaranteed for life.

If you want to do you own compatibility testing, you can buy another 2x4gb kit. No guarantee that it will work with your other kit. Specifications, (memory clock, DRAM Timings) are for one kit not two.

Solution
I meant it like i would buy the same kit i'm using. I would use the same 4 sticks instead of 2.
Question is, if H81 chipset would allow me to use 4 sticks. I don't know anything about the limitations of this chipset.

To clear things up. I'm using HyperX Savage 1600mhz 2x4gb and i would buy another HyperX Savage 1600mhz for total of 16gigs (4x4)

But thing is, i don't know if it will work, so there is second option - Entirely new kit of 2x8 gigs and throw that old 2x4 out.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, also thanks for replies.
