I recently purchased a new gamnig pc and decided to build a mini itx. I done my research to make sure everything was compatible, but after I ordered everything I was looking at the H97i's mobo bios updates and found that it was not originally compatible with the 4790k. It had to get a bios update for some different cpu's to be compatible. So will the mobo come with the latest bios update so I can easily install my 4790k or will I have to do some weird things to get it working?
Thanks.

mobo: asus H97i-plus
cpu: intel i7 4790k
gpu: msi gtx 970
memory: 8gb(2x4gb) corsair
case corsair obsidian 250d

Its a bit weird get a H97 mobo with a CPU that's made for a Z97 mobo.

Bios 2001 on supports i7 4790k - http://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/H97IPLUS/HelpDesk_CPU/

You can use a whole lot of CPUs on that mobo thjat you can use to update your bios if you need to.

You won't know what bios is already on it till you get the mobo running.

so if I build my pc using all the new parts but instead of the new i7, I use my old i5 to launch the pc for the first time. Update all my hardware, including the bios. then take the old i5 out and replace with my new i7, that will work fine? would there be any better performance differences if I were to just buy a Z97i mobo instead?
