Hey guys, about a day ago my friend called me up and told me that his PC got hacked and skulls kept popping up on his screen ,then said "say goodbye to your PC",he immediately removed the cables from each other on his PC because his Titan X cracked from the inside,he went to an inspector to check it and the inspector said that 3 out of 4 processors were destroyed in the event,is it possible that the hacker sent him massively loaded packages heavy enough to fatally damage his hardware? And is there any way to repair it without having to buy a new one or the same price of repairing it?

Solution
I dont know how much knowledge you got with "hacking" but more serious hackers when it comes to hardware, they will use Kali, which lets them mess with some peoples hardware, i havent tried Kali too much yet but i know some use Kali to destroy hardware.

No there is no way to repair it when its destroyed, your friend have to deliver the GPU to those he bought it with and ask for a new one.

I would also report the case to the police, should also save the Network log and OS log for evidence, and see where it came from.
The hacker probably did it trough VPN and or a proxy server to try to cover his own IP, so good luck.

You know that wouldn't be funny and immature to make a name like the issue i have here if you had a Titan X that broke down.

I don't think the police would bother with that in a third world country..but thanks for the help though.

See I thought you were joking in your first post. But judging from your response I guess not. Have your friend claim a replacement through his warranty. Then reformat and tell him not to accept files or download files he doesn't know the contents to outside of official sources. And always keep his software up to date. Now I hope that helps you as for the inspector -tell him not to buy anything he offers him
