Hacker took over my computer

So Basically I downloaded a program which was not a good Idea then I kept getting this annoying Cmd popup then a few seconds after I would get a popup saying the application was unable to start correctly x005 or something then some message chatbox came up with no x button so I said who are you and he said that he is the hacker on my computer and I said I will just do a reset in the bios then he said how abouts I just set you CPU clock so high and damage your hardware so then I said how abouts I do this and turned off the computer. What should I do to reset it without him taking controll?

Right this is serious.

Firstly, he will not be able to access the BIOS of your PC as viruses are operating systems only.

I would shut the PC down, and boot it into safe mode (NOT NETWORKING) and then run this software to remove this guy:

Then Run this: (And Registry Cleaner)

check taskmanager users to see who is on your network. if there is some 1 there kick him by closing the connection.

remove the pc from the internet for a start, then find and kill the remote access tools he's using to snoop on your pc.
if its a known exploit then maybe malwarebytes or some other anti malware app will find it.
also change your router password especially if you have wireless enabled.

but it sounds to me like some 1 on your network is pranking you with the network chat app.

You must have another PC to do this:

Disconnect your PC from the LAN/internet. Either unplug the ethernet cable, or unplug the WiFi device. If a laptop, verify it is OFF.
Do not reconnect it to the outside world until you are 100% sure that all malware has been eradicated.

1. From a different PC, create a bootable antivirus DVD or USB. Possibly Kaspersky Rescue disk
2. Boot from that, and see what happens.

Again, from a different PC, go to all of your online accounts and change the passwords.

Ultimately, if a friend or family member came to me with this, I wouldn't spend more than 30 minutes on 'fixing it'.
Wipe and reinstall from scratch.

Yes, it is far more of a pain. But that WILL kill off whatever it is in there. Any antivirus or malware fix will probably get rid of it, but only 'probably'.
A reinstall is 100% sure.

i would add from a cold boot to that advice... cold boot is the pc is completely drained of power (off for more than 30 seconds in most cases) as doing it from a warm reboot state can leave malware active in memory.

Well first shut off your pc ok.. unplug your wi fi or internet cable if this is for windows 7 ... Find that old trusty WINDOWS Dvd and dust it off then reinstall would be the best and safest way to insure your pc is clean.. After you have installed windows be sure to download a malware program and antivirus program if you don't own one already... Its always best you just start over its the safest way when someone has control of your pc.. As mention already.

You downloaded and installed <whatever>. Upon installation, it phoned home, to him.
"Hi boss! Here is a new zombie PC! And here is a list of all his usernames and passwords. Have fun, boss!"

That may just mean he is leaving you alone for a bit.
Is whatever functionality he used to get inside your PC actually gone? How did you determine this?

Absence of popups does not mean it is 'gone'...

LOL have a cousin who got into trouble like this was ransomware he even paid the guy and 6 months later the hacker got him again I doubt you have gotten ridden of the hacker who spoke to you.... Hopefully you will follow the directions above and if you don't have a pop up that means absolutely nothing he could still be there watching you..

A quick update guys thanks to your help a couple days after the incident he hacked my account on a community game and that's what he was after since I have a good account I kept getting my password changed etc. so he knew it was coming to an end and decided to trade all of my items to his main account his account and every trace is deleted from the page and I also go to his youtube channel "ValciaEx" and troll him roast him in the comments on how his at least £200 account was deleted and I get some angry responses from his fake reviews so I thank you guys all so much for your help.
