Currently building a Hackintosh in a Streacom F1C Evo, a case with no slots for any PCI-E cards, so I have to use a Mobo with built-in WiFi.

That being said, handoff features tend not to work without a specific Broadcom WiFi/Bluetooth card.

Do I buy a Mobo with built in WiFi and swap out the actual chip? And how do I know what Broadcom chip to buy?

Mobo is Gigabyte - GA-Z170N-WIFI Mini ITX and CPU is i5-7500.

Any help or guidance is appreciated!

Thanks!

If you have not purchased the board yet I would look for ones that use the mini-pci connections like a laptop uses. The one you list uses the new M2 type of wireless cards and there are not as many cards on the market yet....especially if you have issue with only certain boards having the drivers you need.

Although they almost always sell them with the wireless board it would be nice if you could find one that had the mini pci-e slot but not the actual board since you plan to replace it.

Luckily because the mother board manufacture do not want to spend the money to get fcc stuff they use a seperate add on board for the wireless which mean you can swap ....you would never be able to swap a actual chip that is on the motherboard itself.
