Hey guys, I still haven't found a reasonable/workable solution to my Hackintosh project Based on the Maximus VI Formula. I've tried all the usual suspects from Tonymac to Lifehacker and there's always a hitch be it missing DSDTs or atexts etc. I've had it booting into OSX but only with the USB installation system still attached (I think that was multibeast - I've used the other one too). When I try to boot it 'solo' it hangs at a certain point, like it's missing something that the installation files on the USB provide...

I was wondering if anything's really changed much in this area since my last attempt about 2 months ago...? Anyone know of any definite solutions?

Cheers!...

Yeah I think it's something to do with the lack of DSDT or Atexts... There don't seem to be any yet specifically for Maximus VI Formula - I was kinda hoping someone would've put one up by now...

Thanks though, I'll check that link out properly when I get home... Cheers.

Hi yapstick!
ASUS released a bios update for the Maximus VI Formula and now enbles you to boot into a Legacy Boot OS (Mac OS X)
I do have a Maximus VI Formula and I am currently installing OS X onto it
I'll just need help on the Multibeast part

Hey AK, sorry I missed your reply. I'm checking out that BIOS update now.
Have you had much luck with your installation. I'm taking another stab at it, still can't get the wireless card or sound enabled in Mavericks though. Might try Snow Leopard...?
Cheers...

Installation went FLAWLESS. Mac OS X works perfectly on this MoBo now. I also got around the wireless module and am now using the Apple Magic mouse through bluetooth.

Here's the kext, you're welcome

Install it using KextBeast

Also, this will save you some tinkering time, go to the Bios, go to the BOOT tab and under "Secure Boot" choose "Other OS", if not the system wont start.

Im running my CPU at 4.3GHz so overclocking shouldn't be an issue

So, don't give up (because I almost did) and Good Luck!

Cheers AK :) Finally got Yosemite working. However, after firing it up today, I've somehow lost Audio.... Oh well, seems like there's still a lot of tweaking to be done. It does run very nicely though. Looking forward to the next chunk of work I get in to really try it out.

Thanks again for those kexts!
