Had a new Toshiba Canvio portable Hard drive and I can't see it on "my computer".

I have a brand new Toshiba Canvio portable external hard drive. I can't see it on "My Computer" but it does show in Device manager. Its also says it working properly. How can I make it work. my OS is win 7. Also, I hear a ticking sound. is it normal? Please please please... I need step/instructions on how to make it work. Thank you very much in advance.

Hey Belle. You could try opening Disk Management and see it it shows up there. Try assigning the drive a letter to see if it fixes the problem. You could also try different USB ports as @plaintuts suggested and try to see if it has the same issue with other computers.

I tried that but still the same. What I can see now is on File system column it says RAW; Status: Healthy (Primary Partition). Please tell me what I should do next... Thank you..

Also tried to the other USB ports, but same result. I also tried it on diff comp but cant detect it. Please help...
