Question Had to force memory modules in

So, I bought 2 x 8gb DDR4 modules and had to apply some force to get them into the slots, they were the right way round, etc, and they did slot in eventually. However this caused the mounting plate for the CPU fan to become loose.

The mounting plate wasn't fastened with screws or such, which is the case for most m'boards, so how do I refasten it?

You just hold it in place while you screw in the cooler, look at the instructions, if they aren't included in the package they will be posted on the website of the mobo or the cooler.

What do you mean, hold it in place?? The mounting plate was firmly attached to the underside of the motherboard, it was not loose to begin with, it became loose due to reasons explained. Not my fault. That aside, how am I supposed to hold it in place and secure the fan to the motherboard at the same time?
In any case (pun not intended), the m'board doesn't accommodate the heatsink/fan unit anyway.

What do you mean I have to know the exact motherboard and cooling mount you have?!
As I said in the first post, show pictures or at least tell us your component models.
