:D :bounce:
I know you guys wont believe me so i will post some pics with this information
my q6600 processor is currently at 3.4ghz and is completly stable, didnt somebody say 3.6ghz is not possible? I'm pretty sure i can reach that. I have the MSI P35 Platinum board which i just got today and started fiddling around. The amazing thing is that this is accomplished on AIR COOLING!! Even overclocked to 3.4ghz, my core temp is only around 120* F!! tested with CoreTemp .95 burn in under Sisoft Sandra.
I have a Zalman CNPS9500 cooler.
Any questions?
if you want i will post images of the bios settings too:)

actually i'm not sure how to attach a pic?
i will post one if you guys let me know how i can do it.

And who said Q6600 @ 3.6 is impossible? With a B3 revision it might pose a challenge but if you got a newer G0 then 3.6 is a piece of cake on air cooling.

Hey, I suspect OP doesn't answer due to system failure. He's probably busy RMAing. I saw your [strike]other[/strike] (group badly in need of real women, not inflatables) post. Here is the only post from that section you missed while you were gone. I saved it for you.

i leveled it off at 3.555ghz
i could probably go higher but i dont want to push her to the limit. still unbelievable that my temps are only reaching around 125*F when running sandra? i thought these chips ran hot? check out some of the other forums on the q6600 in tomshardware, one guy asked if he could get it to 3.6ghz and lots of people on this forum said no way on air cooling. Funny thing is temp is my last concern when i was doing my OCing never had a temp problem

Hey by the way Maziar, that link you posted that you said the guy overclocked his quad to 5.1ghz, that was a Intel Duo Core 2 Extreme QX6850. Not a Quad Core so get your story straight. Man i am psyched out that i got this mofo over 1ghz above factory. It's not easy takes a lot of tweaking and the right parts. also i was wondering if anybody has had any stability on 64bit platform? any problems with programs running and drivers? i was thinking about upgrading my OS but i'm not sure yet i have heard of problems even now. Is there any real performance boost going to 64bit?

3.6ghz for a q6600 g0 is not unheard of and actually not that rare. I've seen 3.8ghz stable by a guy with a Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme and I'm guessing really good airflow. He also has done a suicide run @ 4ghz.

Take a look.

I'm not sure exactly what your system components are, but if you don't have P35 mobo, thats a pretty good OC. If you really do plan on getting a great OC, get a P35, some ddr2 800 or 1066 ram and either the thermalright, tuniq or scythe coolers.

Otherwise, you have yourself a $1000 CPU for a fraction of the cost!

Good luck if you try to get 3.6ghz+.

Download Prime95v25.6 and run a Small FFT test. This is pretty much the only way to be 100% sure it's stable. But be sure to watch your temps!
