Yep, These are the days of fierce of competition, with the race for speed and ways to make you spend more $$$ manufacturers are having quality lot problems for the sake of beating out the competition. So, as consumers we are at the mercy of a speed & greed marketeers. Sad but true, manufacturers put more effort in quality back then because they were intrigued by the technology. Nowaday, its all about money.

Ouch. Making fun of an GXP75 is one thing, but comparing its trash-worthiness to a copy of Daikatana? That's pretty cold. :p

"trash-worthiness to a copy of Daikatana?"

I was *MOST* offended by that, as well. There's a point of vileness to which even I will not decend.

Other than that, the review is pretty much right on. I still have two 6.4gigs (desktop and laptop) that work fine.

Imagine what a modern day disk simular in size would store! We have come a long way from 44MB.

Btw, what did the 800-JB cost and could you give me an Aussie-link to the store ol' buddy?

Thanks heaps.

Sure, i got the 800JB from Landmark computers.
they advertise in the greenguide, stores all around melbourne.
$290 bucks. not bad at all, considering the 80Gb 120GXP is $265 and i got my 40gb 60GXP for about $375 last year LOL

Not sure how worthy my posting will be, but I heard pretty harsh reviews and comments about the IBM 60gxp. Doing so, I wisely avoided it!

I previously had an IBM 20gb 40gv - and was extremely chuffed with it.

I now have that on the slave, and an 80gb 120gxp on the master - with a max transfer rate of around 50mb/sec, I'm far from unhappy!

Still waiting for the 20gb to give up the ghost....!

Funny you mention that. I have a 2GB hard drive that is incredibly loud compared to the newer drives and has no less than 16 heads. Still works perfectly btw.

Censorship makes us so much more creative.
