hal.dll BSOD, can anyone help?

The file is a dynamic link library file for windows os.

If the file has become corrupted you will see this message presented by a blue screen.

Depending on when, what day or time the system started to produce the error.
If it happens at random times when windows is loaded.

Use system restore of windows, check to see what software was installed, or any system updates were made to the system
Via the restore points made.
If you suspect it was down to a windows update file or a bit of installed software.
Simply choose a restore point before it, and restore the windows os to that point in time.

It also works if the system has been infected by a virus causing the crashing of the system Freekill98.
And what system restore of windows is used for.
