[SOLVED] Half availabe physical memory of total

So my total physical memory is 15.9 but only available physical memory is 8.80. Is this normal or is something wrong

It's normal, ur total available memory drops sky high as soon as ur pc boots because system reserves it for itself to be able to run properly.

thats about 50% memory reserved and that is not remotely normal.to to your task manager and look at what processes are running and how much ram they are using.as well look at your startup programs and disable anything you dont need to start with windows.

Go to System Configuration (msconfig).
On the Boot Tab, select your Current OS; Default OS and click on Advanced Options.
In the top right, make sure Maximum memory is unchecked.

If it's checked, uncheck it and click OK.
On the last Windows, click Ok again.
When asked if you want to restart your system, do so.
