Half Life 1 buttons dont work!

Hello,
In my version of half-life which includes cs:cz and cs:1.6
the buttons in half life dont work (in the menu)

I cant even play this game, wat is the problem here!! 🙁

I have windows vista x32

Can you use the keyboard? Also try to pinpoint the mouse right on the text on the menu. I had some game menu's that would only respond if you hover the mouse right over the pixels of the letters not just near them.

Vista has been notorious for breaking backwards compatibility in my experience.

Attempt compatibility modes in steps as far back as you can, and if not there is always simply grabbing a copy on Steam which I've never heard of having issues with any operating system and goes as far as working on Linux based computers these days.

Dang I just looked on Steam and half life 2 used to come with half life 1....It doesn't anymore and neither does the orange box. If you are a huge half life fan and you do not have half life 2 yet I would get the complete package for 39.99. It comes with HL 1,2 and all the episodes of 2 which are amazing. Comes with more little goodies as well. Good luck!

Also I would look into upgrading to Windows 8.1. Do a compatibility check which you can download from Microsoft to see if your hardware is compatible.
