I have just tried to install Half Life GOTY and it came up with an error that says:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "Close" to terminate this application.

What does this mean and why is it coming up and not letting me install it. I have installed Half Life Source would this be conflicting with it. How do I get it to let me install it as I Hva e to have it installed for Counterstrike and Natural Selection to work.

Thx

I have counter-strike 1.6 running on my machine and have no idea where my copy of the firs half life is. You shouldn't need it to run counter strike. If you have a steam account from counter-strike, you can download it. When you log into Steam for Source, you should be able to get Counter-Strike 1.6 too.

PLEASE NOTE: Some quantum physics theories suggest that when the consumer is not directly observing this product, it may cease to exist or will exist only in a vague and undetermined state.

You do not need it for counter strike or ns. In fact I don't think the old installs of them even work anymore, everything is steam only now.
For the old CS just bring up steam, go to the games menu, right click on counter strike, and hit install.
