Solution
1.2 is the latest adopted standard but 1.1 should be fine as well for what you want.

Link isn't working for the one you did. But here is another:

Just need something like that. Male to Male Display port 1.2 whatever length you need.

It's like HDMI - Don't waste your money on expensive cables as it is digital and has error correction built in.

Is there any special Display Port cable i should use to get 144hz or are they all the same. will this cable give me what i need

Hey i got the cable and it still only show 60hz and ideas

yea all that is there is 50 59 60

you should have more options like 85 100 120 144.

Is the monitor showing as a generic monitor?

You may need to download the driver for the screen. Check Windows update optional updates for the BenQ driver, or go to the website and download it if you don't have it already

yea it show up as a generic monitor when i got to get the driver there no .exe in the file idk why that is.

no they are drivers, not driver installers. You need to open the .zip file you downloaded. Extract the folder somewhere you wont delete it.

then right click on the desktop background, go to 'screen resolution' click on 'advanced settings' go to monitor tab and click properties. then go to the driver tab, click update driver then click browse my computer for the files. Point it to the folder you unzipped and select whatever file it lets you load as a driver.

Problem solved - set refresh to 144hz done.

Sorry just saw your reply today 🙁
