When I play Halo 2 the video slows down dramatically. It's like everything moves kind of in slow motion. My system is i75820k 2 geforce 980's 32 gigs of ddr 4 and it's running off a SSD.

Clearly the system can more then handle this game. Any idea what the problem is? I tried Windows Vista compatibility mode and all the different graph options and still no luck.

Thanks.

Solution
Is this the only game that performs like this? If so go to Nvidia Control Panel, click "Manage 3D settings", find "Halo 2.exe" and look for "Power setting" (or something along those lines). Set it from "Adaptive" to "Prefer maximum performance". Remember to restart your computer afterwards.

Let me know how it goes after you've done this. :)

Solution
Figured I'd post since I couldn't find the "maximum performance" option. I'm running 2 GPU's in SLI just like OP, and wound up solving the same issue by setting the game to only render on one GPU.

I'm not sure why you can't find it, but make sure you have NVIDIA control panel installed (right click ur desktop, it should be in the context menu). If you have that then you should be able to do as I said above.
