I've come across a new phenomena the past few days playing
Team slayer. There seems to be a lot of people out there
who think if you quit a game you are losing, that it won't
count on your ranking. Don't these people realize that when
you quit a game you are automatically ranked lower than
everyone that stayed longer than you, even if you had more
kills them then? It's very irritating to have your whole
team quit 45 seconds in because you are down by a few
points.

Yep. Quitters, standbyers, and griefers. They're all going to a special
place in hell. Put me on your friends list. I'd talk politics with fred
liken before I'd quit a H2 game. GT: Capn 420

Could it be that they dont care about the rankings?

No, I don't think so. In one game, me and this fellow were
the only ones left. He was begging me to quit so that his
rankings wouldn't get ruined. I tried to explain to him
that just wasn't so.

I hear ya. Out of the hundreds of games I have played, I've
quit twice. Once because company showed up, and they
wouldn't just come on in when I yelled and the other time
because the satellite repairman need to see the satellite.

I am UNIQUEGAMERTAG. I worked on that one for hours.

During the registration it says to pick a unique gamer tag.

Its probably that they are stupid and never checked the Bungie site to even

We were talking about a game that lasts 7 to 10 minutes, not 168 hours, and
the substantial number of players that quit as soon as things start to go
badly. I've got nothing against the players that occasionally have to quit
to put out a fire or clear their baby's airway.

If you want to quit your game any old time you feel like it,
don't bother playing online. It is rude to quit a game and
leave your teammates hanging. Most games last 10 minutes at
the most. If you can't commit 10 minutes, don't bother
hitting the start button.

Hey my kid has only choked twice in the last 10 months of XBL and even then
it only takes a couple of seconds to clear the airway and pick the

Yeah but honestly. A little forethought of putting the matches and lighters
away before starting a game cuts that risk down exponentially.

It never gets old ripping on quitters!

I started a game last night and just then got a party invite from a
neighbor. I stuck it out for 3 out of 4 rounds. We were up 1-zip and were
on offense the last round. So, since we had clinched victory I asked my
teammates if I could leave and join my neighbor. They were all very cool
and said yes.

That is not the same thing. On top of that, they didn't lose anything by
you dropping out, you did.
