Hey everyone,

So i'm trying to install my motherboard into the fractal design r4 with the corsair h100i but my motherboard cannot reach the top stand offs. Here's a picture of what's happening.

The piece of the motherboard that says OC Genie II is running into the fans.

Motherboard is a MSI Z68A-GD55.

Case is a Fractal Design R4

Suggestions? Are the corsair sp120's "thinner" than the stock fans? Any help would be appreciated!!

I have never been a fan of the Fractal R4 for water cooling. And the only thing that makes the 100i top some of the better air coolers is that the fans spin at 2600-2700 rpm....with normal speed fans, the air coolers do better. You might try taking a dremel to the fan housing and trimming it a bit. The Corsair fans are also 25mm thick ....anything thinner will significantly cripple performance.

Also note that your radiator will be less effective at cooling ya CPU as the way it's mounted, you have pre-heated case air doing your cooling. With say 24C ambient and 34C coolant, the 29C interior case air will be half as effective cooling ya CPU as the 24C outside air will.

Also loosen the rad mount to the case, you may be able to grab a mm or two by pulling away from MoBo.

I tried mounting the radiator and fans as a pull setup with the fans on top and radiator on bottom, but the motherboard wouldn't fit. So I tried mounting it this way in Push but same problem of not having enough room.
