hand hurts while pc gaming

so i have been gaming on my newly built pc for about 4 days now and my hand that i use for WASD starts to hurt in the middle and front of the top of my hand. is this something i have to get used to or what????????. has this happened to you when you first started pc gaming??. any help would be appreciated.

You could be experiencing RSI, Repetitive Stress Injury. Best way to alleviate this is to stop doing what's causing it. Continuing could cause more permanent damage, like a compressed carpal nerve. If your fingers go numb, stop immediately.

Things to try for relieving the hurt:

You want your wrist to remain relatively level.
Check and adjust the angle of your keyboard.
Some office and gaming keyboards have a palm rest to help, and there are gel-filled versions that work quite well at cradling the wrist instead of it pressing on a hard surface.
 
It's definitely a warning sign that you're doing damage. You don't get "used" to it.

So as said above you should definitely investigate your options though if it's hurting at all you should avoid it completely unless you can find a method that doesn't hurt like a controller etc as mentioned.
